RPTA Showcase, TODAY!

The Schwartz Center stage is about to come to life for the first time this season!  Today at 2 pm we’re going to be showcasing the talents of our five RPTAs.  RPTA stands for Resident Professional Teaching Associate.  These are five professional actors who are committed to their craft and sharing it with the Cornell community.  They come to Ithaca from NYC, LA, Chicago, and various other cities to enhance our productions and classroom experience for the students.

Four of our RPTAs are retuning from last year: Jeffrey Guyton, Paul Hebron, J.G. Hertzler, and Sonja Lanzener.  All four of these fabulous actors last appeared in our production of As You Like and you can see all of them in our upcoming production of The Importance of Being Earnest.  New this year we are welcoming Michael Kaplan.  His first main stage performance will be God’s Ear.

We hope that this afternoon will be a great introduction of these fine actors to our community.  If you’re free to join us please do.  You’ll see me there setting up a reception for everyone after the performance that’s free and open to the public.

So I’m new to Cornell and I went to the showcase on Sunday. What did other people think of it?
