I recently received a tentative schedule for Bernstein’s Mass, this Spring’s extravaganza, coming for one week only! The amount of organization it takes to put together the schedules of a 100 person choir, an orchestra, and a couple dozen dancers and soloists is something I admire.
It is great to see so many underclassmen jumping into theatre and auditioning for future acting classes, etc., next semester and for Fall 2009. This season’s shows have already been cast, but the breadth and strength of talent for next season promises to give back to the community with full force.
Mass is only performing on one weekend, so I recommend looking ahead to get your seats now! Even though the snow on the ground and the academic stress in the air might make us want to settle into our pajamas in front of a nice wood-fire (where I am right now ;oP), next semester will be upon us sooner than we think, and with it will come a whole new mix of comedy, tragedy, spectacle, intimacy, and just downright fun.
I hope to see you all there with us! Enjoy the winter months, and remember to keep your eye on the SchwartzScene!
My best, with the love of theatre,
