Tickets are now on sale for Precious Little, a work by Madeleine George ’96, which will be performed at the Cornell Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts on Feb. 16-19 and Feb. 24-26.

Precious Little continues the Cornell Playwright’s Project, dedicated to producing the plays of Cornell alumni.
The play will be directed by Myles Kenyon Rowland ‘11, a theatre arts major.
“This is a beautifully-written play that touches on a lot of important issues that people don’t talk about often,” Rowland said. “Issues like the challenges of balancing work and family; science and genetic testing and how that’s changed the experience of pregnancy and childbirth; and just the basic issue of how people communicate with each other and with other animals.”
The Cornell production of Precious Little will be a world premiere, of sorts. Although the play has been performed before, George has transformed the play from the original version written for three actors playing multiple roles to the Cornell production, which involves six actors. She visited campus in the fall to meet with students and work on that transformation and plans another visit during the rehearsal process.
The Precious Little cast includes both Resident Professional Teaching Associates and Cornell students, including Bridget Saracino (Brodie); Sarah K. Chalmers (Ape/Cleva/Dorothy); Julie Reed (Rhiannon); Sharisse Taylor (Dre); Alessandra Hirsch (Evelyn) and Kit Lyman (Gloria).
Evening performances of Precious Little are at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16-19 and 24-26. One matinee will be offered at 2 p.m. Feb. 19.
